Hi Everyone,
This week is a bit different from normal. This week we'll be meeting at the Wellers' home in Tualatin. Please let the Wellers know if you need their address (or maybe they'll post it in a comment below?). Please call for directions if you need them. And please post whether you are going to make it there or not.
It's BYOM night, so bring your own meal. Some of us are going to go over to Chipotle on Nyberg at around 5:45 IN COSTUME to get a $2 BOORITO (http://www.chipotle.com/en-US/boorito/boorito.aspx) to bring over. It'd be fun if you join us there. Plus you might want to accompany the other kids around the neighborhood. I hear they'll be in costume too!
Also, here are a few other notes and reminders as we've talking about being Christ's Body to the World:
1) We have an opportunity via Kris and Bob to contribute to the City Teams ministry in Portland for the upcoming holiday season. We have a goal of providing all of their gravy (yes, I said gravy) needs for Thanksgiving. We think $250 will cover that expense. If you can contribute to this worthy cause, please do so to Bob or Kris by November 4th, making any checks out to City Teams International. 2) Lacey and Ben will soon have some information on how we can reach out in support of parents of premature babies through the annual NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) drive, so keep alert for that.
3) Don't forget to sign up for I Am People (http://www.iampeople.org/) and see how you can make a real difference in someone's life. Some needs are financial, and others may capitalize on some special skill you have. If you need help signing up, or need the access code, please let Justin or Tony know.
4) It's not too early to begin to plan now for Wednesday, November 7th's "Collective Scattering" night, when we take the night to intentionally be involved in someone's life outside of community group (i.e. we don't meet at the Barbers' home that night, but make plans with other folks).

Hello all! I'm not going to make it to this one- I decided it would be a good idea if I passed out candy in my neighborhood and met more of my neighbors in the process. I'll see you all Sunday!
ReplyDeleteBtw- quick prayer request: please pray that Taylor's flight doesn't get delayed or cancelled because of the storm on the east coast. He's supposed to fly into New Jersey at 5:00am on Friday, so we're pushing it as far as flights and weather go. I'm ready for him to be home!!!
I should be able to make it to Chipotle-I'll rock my Winnie the Pooh costume long enough to get some food. It's way too hot to wear for very long!
